What to Expect

What to Bring:

  • All of Your Current Eyewear: Your existing prescriptions will help us determine if you need new glasses.

  • A List of Your Current Medications: Include all eye medications and drops you are taking.

  • Insurance ID Cards: Bring any insurance identification cards you have.

  • Authorizations or Referrals: Any authorizations or referrals from your primary care physician.

  • Completed Online Forms: You can print and fill out these forms in advance to save time.

Helpful Suggestions:

  • Appointment Duration: Expect to be at your appointment for 1 to 1.5 hours. Allow ample time for transportation and the examination.

  • New Patient Forms: If you received new patient forms or downloaded our registration forms, completing these will save you time in the office.

  • Transportation: Consider having someone drive you. Your eyes will likely be dilated, causing some blurring and light sensitivity for about 2 to 4 hours. Sunglasses will help with post-exam light sensitivity.

  • Payments: Be prepared for any payments due at the time of your visit. Even with insurance, you may be responsible for co-pays and deductibles. You may also need a refraction (measurement of your eyes' focusing status), which is typically not covered by insurance, so you will be responsible for the refraction fee.

  • Diagnostic Testing Fees: Depending on your insurance company, you may be responsible for additional fees for diagnostic testing. At Northwest Eye Center, Dr. Dilman and Dr. Vilderman are dedicated to providing comprehensive eye care. We look forward to serving you and ensuring your eye health.
